impossible to select some tables on many databases

Hi,

My site has 3 databases (1 for WP, 2 others). It is impossible to select some tables in each of them: in this case, only 2 databases are backuped; the WP database and only one of my “other” database.

The problem is on the “Generate Backups > Database Option” tab: You cannot expand/develop my 2 “others” databases (= seeing of the tables names to select some of them); as soon you select a one of them, the other is automatically reduced/shrinked, and the list of its selected tables is not kept.

Twice the same backup

Hi,

I have 3 daily backups but one is executed twice (“scheduled” is taken from the “Scheduled Backup” tooltip; “run” from the .tar creation date; “created” from the “Manage Backups” tab):

  • #7 scheduled @01:10:00, run @01:00:44 created @01:00…1fd.log
  • #9 scheduled @01:00:00, run @01:00:46 and @01:00:47 each created @01:00…7d6.log & …4fd.log
  • #10 scheduled @01:30:00, rue @02:00:03 created @02:00…220.log

The #9 is executed twice every day. And their content is identical (the xcloner-*.log also, except for the time stamp).
The server CRON is running every hour @ :00 (cd /home/kfksucy/public_html; php -q wp-cron.php).

Any idea about this?

Bad sort order for Date/time

Hi,

On the “Manage Backups” tab, clicking on “Creation Time” sorts the column by its content: this is not the good way; it should be sorted by their meaning. “28 Jun” appears after “08 Jul”.

The date sort order must be year/month/day and not day/month/year!
To solve quickly this issue, please display the dates as “yyyy/mm/dd” instead of “dd Mmm, yyyy”.

Hopefully, a sort on the “Backup Name” column is Ok because all of my backup file names do have the same prefix “backup…”.

Creating WEBDAV remote storage fails

Hi,

Great plugin! Looks great so far.

I’m having a issue when adding WebDAV storage.
Upon clicking ‘verify’ the following error is shown:
WebDAV connection error: Could not write data

The following is displayed in the XCloner Debugger:

I’ve been able to add the same WebDAV to CentOS, Redhat and winSCP.
A telnet from the xcloner server to the webdav server works.

SFTP settings

Hi there. I’ve been trying to set up XCloner to use SFTP, unsuccessfully.

The error when I use the “verify” button is “SFTP connection error: Could not login with username: xxx, host: xxxxx.xxx.xxx”

The logs show the error: “[2018-08-08 07:58:47] php_system.INFO: E_USER_NOTICE: array ( ‘type’ => 1024, ‘message’ => ‘Cannot connect to sftp://xxxxx.xxx.xxx:22. Error 15504464. Unable to find the socket transport “sftp” – did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?’, ‘file’ => ‘/[…]/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/vendor/phpseclib/phpseclib/phpseclib/Net/SSH2.php’, ‘line’ => 1122, ) [] []”

I’ve tried using FTP and the same error results. Googling hasn’t yielded anything that I found informative.

I can use the login credentials successfully from an FTP client (SFTP works).

Support for restoring from Remote Storage

Hi,

When I saw your plugin, I was really excited to use it. But unfortunately there is no option to restore from remote storage. Also I would have liked a setting for database backup only. Another thing, if there is only one remote storage configured, backup should go to that storage when we click on remote storage button. Feels unnecessary to select backup option when I have only DropBox configured.

Hope you can support it in future, I really love the interface and whole feel of the plugin. Thanks.

restore when you dont have wp-admin access?

i had a situation this weekend where one of my websites was down, completely. 500 error. i was told it was a content issue and not a server issue, whatever that means. luckily this was set up with godaddy managed wordpress hosting and they keep a daily backup. i was able to restore and all was back to normal… but it got me to thinking. if it wasnt a managed hosting account with this daily backup, how would i have restored this website with xcloner if i didnt have access to the websites backend? i had FTP access and could see all my files, but not the websites backend where i could have restored using xcloner.
i have other websites that are not on managed hosting with daily backups i have access to for restoral.
any suggestions?

site seems too large to upload via FTP

i have a few websites that are giving me trouble. they backup fine but when they upload to my FTP server for remote backup, they fail. i get errors, a file will partially upload, etc. i also have trouble downloading the backup, this gives me a timeout error. one website is 675mb and the other is around 4gb.
is there a way to upload these?

sites will backup but not upload to ftp/dropbox

i have six websites on six different hosting plans. i have them all scheduled at different times during the night so they wont all be hitting dropbox at the same time. the website will backup correctly but only one will actually upload to my dropbox folder. i can manually upload them so i know my settings are correct. their schedules are set to upload to dropbox. i have set then all up using the cron job suggestions i was given elsewhere in this forum.
any suggestions? thanks!

FTP connection error: Could not write data

I am using a Synology Nas and I want to remote connect via ftp from my wordpress site to it. I can connect thru filezilla to the Nas but when I use the plugin for remote storage I get the error. It is able to login but can’t write data. I can’t find anything in the forums that has actually helped me. My port 21 is open.

Database Backup Silently Fails (If DB Details Change)

This is more a suggestion/observation than a help request.

If the database access details have changed, e.g. DB server/name, the backups still run without reporting any problems. The log file even reports the database backup as successfully started and completed (when there is no DB backup in the backup file). This should of course report a critical backup failure 🙂

Every time I try to schedule a site backup it fails, and now I get this error on my logs:

WebDav / OneDrive – can’t connect?

I am trying to use Xcloner to backup to my OneDrive account via WebDav. I have confirmed the basic connection details are correct via another 3rd party app but can’t get Xcloner to connect – I keep getting “WebDAV conection error: Could not write data” when trying to verify the new connection.

The format I’ve used is:

Base Url: https://d.docs.live.net/123456789
UserName: my email address
Password: my confirmed password for OneDrive
Target folder: I’ve tried nothing in here as well as “/backups/wordpress/” (a folder that exists in OneDrive)

Any thoughts?

S3 path-style default changed?

I used to backup to an S3 bucket (using a Minio back-end) which worked fine. As I’m currently having issues with OneDrive I want to move back to S3 for a while and I can’t back up anymore 🙁

I think the issue is that my proxy/DNS set up requires path-style bucket requests to be made.

Is there any way I can force Xcloner to use this style of connection to S3?

NB. I’m 99% sure this worked previously – have the defaults changed?

pre_auto_update messages sent to main site email address

I have backup notifications sent to a different email address than the main site admin address (to keep things clean). It’s worked for months, getting only the final “new backup generated” messages. Recently, the main admin email address started getting mail about the intermediate pre_auto_update steps, for example:

From: XCloner Backup <****@****>
Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 11:57 AM
To: <****@****>
Subject: pre_auto_update – new backup generated backup_pre_auto_update_translation_********************

Generated Backup Size: 26 MB

The main admin doesn’t want these. Any ideas why they started up? The last time anything possibly relevant was mentioned in the changelog was in 4.0.7 — “added log fixes for WordPress cron”.

SFTP login fails

Hi,

I am trying to set up an SFTP link to my NAS, but XCloner – Backup and Restore cannot connect.
I use the SFTP Username, the SFTP Password and I have indicated the location of the Private Key(RSA) which is the file /mnt/HDA_ROOT/.config/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key.pub on my NAS.

Connection fails, although I can login to my NAS with Filezilla with the same credentials.

The error message is:
SFTP connection error: Could not login with username: xxxxxx, host: xx.xxx.xxx.xxx
The log states:

What do I do wrong?

Something’s throwing an error

I’m having issues with saving a backup to Dropbox, it keeps throwing an internal memory error and another one, which I don’t understand. Any help?

WordPress Multisite

Hi there = thanks for this excellent plugin. Just want to check if on a multisite installation, backing-up the main site will back-up all the site. Or I should back-up the sites individually.
Sorry if you already discussed it, but I was not able to find the answer.
